GCRI celebrated WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY on 31st May 2018, the event was organized in the morning with public at Riverfront Park, Subhash Bridge, Ahmedabad. The programme started with the walk of the staff members and aerobic session.

The staff shared important information regarding tobacco and its hazards to common public and motivated them to quit tobacco and unite against the noble cause of fighting against cancer.

The oncologists emphasized public on basic essentials of healthy life including balanced diet, weight control, daily exercise and abstinence from tobacco completely. Public also enthusiastically shared their experience regarding ill effects of tobaccos with some wonderful poems on tobacco too.

There were many dignitaries gracing their presence in this noble cause – Dr. Shashank Pandya, Director, GCRI, Mr. Narendrasinh Chavda, Hospital Administrator, Padmashree Dr. Pankaj Shah, Former Director, GCRI, Mr. Kshitish Madanmohan, Trustee, Gujarat Cancer Society (GCS), Dr Kirti Patel, Dean GCS Medical College, Dr. Shilin Shukla, Former Director, Dr. Geeta Joshi, CEO, Community Oncology Centre, Vasna and various subject experts. This programme was organized under the active leadership of Women Development Cell of GCRI.
